Education Centre FAQ's
Will I be charged for booking a room?
All RBWH and University of Queensland Medical Education users are able to book and utilise our facility at no cost during our business hours (Mon – Fri: 7am to 5pm)
A fee will be charged to all other Queensland Health entities outside of the RBWH and any external clients during normal business hours.
A fee will be charged to all hirers of the facilities outside of normal business hours.
Upon receiving your booking request, our team will communicate any associated costs incurred via email quote / proposal.
What Audio-Visual Facilities are in the rooms?
All rooms within the Centre are equipped with a fully integrated AV System including data projector, QH PC with inter/intra-net, MN Teams/Zoom, HDMI for BOYD, integrated audio system with touch panel-controlled microphones, cameras and lighting. A staff member will be onsite to assist with any AV issues that may arise. WIFI available on request.
What Catering options are there in the centre?
Metro North Catering (in-house catering) is the only Catering permitted within the RBWH Education Centre. There are no facilities to BYO catering within the centre or engage an external catering company as per the Centres Terms and Conditions.
Are there fridge or microwave facilities for use?
There is NO refrigeration or microwave available in the Centre.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes, the Education Centre and all rooms are wheelchair accessible.
What details should I provide when submitting a booking?
Please include your cost centre code (QH-MNHHS-RBWH users only), attendee numbers, AV requirements, catering/ foyer space required, microphones, whiteboard, room set up (forum, theatre, classroom style, chairs only) MS Teams, Zoom, etc….
What time can I arrive to set up?
You will only have access to the room at the specific time you have booked. If you need additional set up/pack down time, you need to allow for this in your booking times. You can specify a “booking time' and” event running time "always put the official event.
All bookings have a 15-minute buffer between to allow our staff to reset the rooms, clean surfaces and test equipment where required. Please only book the time you require.
Can I record my event?
Yes, the Auditorium can independently record the Audio and Visual within the room. For a $40 fee, you can have a digital copy of your event recording. The Seminar Rooms can be recorded through MS Teams/Zoom through your own account.
What are the best transport options?
We offer ticket validation for Cornerstone Car Park on Herston Road (only) - which enables a $23 flat rate for a full weekday. RBWH Bus Station is located approx. 200m from the Centre.
